All roads lead to Telangana capital city as speculation is rife over Muhurat for Cabinet expansion is scheduled on Vasantha Panchami (Sunday, February 10), an auspicious day for Hindus. The ruling TRS party MLAs, those who’re in their constituencies, have rushed to Hyderabad to know their fate. However, there’s no such indication for Cabinet expansion from the TRS party. Just going by the Vasantha Panchami day, party senior MLAs and cadres are hoping for Cabinet expansion, said a senior TRS leader.
Meanwhile, aspirants of ministerial berths in the Cabinet had a busyday on Friday seeking appointment with KT Rama Rao, TRS working president, who was in Sircilla. Several MLAs are trying their best to ensure that their names are reached to TRS supremo K Chandrashekhar Rao for cabinet berths.
Rumour mills are abuzz ever since KCR took oath as chief minister for the second term. Since, KCR is keen on Federal Front, he may not keep T Harish Rao in the Cabinet as he prefers his nephew to accompany him at New Delhi and supporting his activities. For this, chances are that Harish Rao may contest from Medak Lok Sabha seat. Whether KCR keeps KT Rama Rao in the Cabinet is also a million dollar question now as KTR has been entrusted with party working president position.
“We can’t rule out chances of four to six new faces in the Cabinet,” said a source, who further added that this expansion may induct eight ministers and next expansion is likely after Lok Sabha polls. TRS working president is already on state tour preparing the party cadres for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Since TRS turned keen on Khammam, KCR may also choose this Lok Sabha seat for his Federal Front mission, while prefer Tummala Nageswara Rao in the Cabinet by offering him MLC seat.
KTR, who has been elevated as TRS working president after the recent Assembly polls, is busy touring districts, gearing up the party cadre for Lok Sabha polls.
Chandrasekhar Rao wants his son to focus on Lok Sabha polls at this stage. He would be inducted into the cabinet after the Lok Sabha polls.
In case of Harish Rao, it is widely speculated that the TRS supremo wants him to shift to national politics. That way, Harish will be able to assist KCR in forging the Federal Front in Delhi. Consequently, Harish may be asked to contest from the Medak Lok Sabha seat. Speculations are also rife that KCR will contest Lok Sabha polls from either Nalgonda or Khammam parliamentary constituencies.
