Warangal: Political parties stepped up their campaign in Warangal mounting vitriolic attack against each other to woo the voters of the Warangal Lok Sabha Constituency election scheduled on November 21.
To silence the critics charging the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief and Chief Minister N Chandrasekhara Rao giving raw deal to his nephew and Irrigation Minister Tanneru Harish Rao, KCR has fielded his son and Information Technology Minister K Taraka Rama Rao and Harish Rao, to work together to bring victory to the party.
While Harish Rao is leading the TRS campaign in Warangal East Assembly constituency, on the other, KTR is going all out to meet people seeking votes in Warangal West Assembly constituency.
Both the Warangal East and West Assembly constituencies constitute 47 municipal divisions falling under the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC). Also, these two segments had contributed to majority voting to the party during the 2014 Assembly elections. Keeping this in mind, the TRS focusing the key role of these 47 divisions of GWMC urban voters, both the KTR and Harish Rao have started extensively campaigning in these areas.
Addressing the voters while Harish Rao said that people are with TRS, and his party led State government has been implementing both the development and welfare programmes. And, people are not ready fall prey to the gimmicks of the opposition parties. Calling both the BJP and Congress have hired candidates from outside and fielded as their party candidates, KTR pointed out that the national parties are now outdated and it was proved in Bihar Assembly election results.
The Congress party has made the Leader of the Opposition (LOP) in the State Legislative Council Shabbir Ali, and Telangana PCC president N Uttamkumar Reddy to lead the campaign from the front in the Warangal West and East Assembly constituencies. Besides, the senior Congress leader and LOP in the State Assembly Jana Reddy and other senior leaders are touring other segments of the Lok Sabha constituency.
The YSRCP roped in film actress Roja to campaign, and she participated in road shows in Station Ghanapur, Raghunatha Palli, Dharmanagar and other mandals. Roja called that the ruling party has failed in delivering on its electoral promise, and the elections to Warangal Lok Sabha have been forced on people due to selfish politics pursued by opportunistic politicians.
The left parties, who are backing an independent candidate Gali Vindo Kumar had to experience tense movements, following the Registrar of Osmania University, where Kumar has been working, informed that his request for approval to contest has been rejected. However, by Monday evening, CPI-M has a sigh of relief following the State High Court allowing Kumar to contest in the elections. The Telangana State Unit secretary of CPI-M Tammineni Veerabhadram has been touring extensively campaigning in support of Kumar.
On the other, the BJP and TDP campaign is yet to pick up and BJP is roping and lined up Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya, State BJP president G Kishan Reddy and others to campaign for its candidate.
