Young director Nag Ashwin impressed the audience with his debut film Yevade Subramanyam and his second attempt is said to be the biopic of legendary actress Savitri. The movie has been titled Mahanati and the script work of the movie has been wrapped up recently. Nithya Menen has been left spell bound with the script and signed it immediately. NTR and Naga Chaitanya are in talks to reprise the roles of NTR and ANR respectively in the film.
This brought a multi-starrer look for the movie however there are many others to be finalized which turned to be the major challenge for the makers. Senior producer Ashwini Dutt is bankrolling the film and the makers are in search for the roles of SV Ranga Rao, Suryakantham, MGR and Sivaji Ganeshan. Though MGR and Sivaji Ganeshan can be found, it is real hard to find SVR and Suryakantham. The makers confirmed that no other actors of this generation can step into the shoes of these legendary actors.
The shoot of the film will start once things get finalized. Mahanati will be produced by Three Angel Studios owned by Priyanka Dutt and Swapna Dutt.
