IKEA, Sweden based home furnishing store, opened on grand scale last month in Hyderabad. ( Click here for : IKEA opens it’s first store in India in Hyderabad, people rushed to store in thousands ). The store was opened in the presence of KT Rama Rao, Sweden Ambassador and CEO of IKEA Group. However, IKEA faced biggest embarrassment as customer filed complaint on it to GHMC after he finds insect in IKEA veg Biriyani.
The customer, who was appalled after seeing insect in veg Biriyani, posted picture of his food having caterpillar on Twitter and filed a complaint in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.IKEA management tendered apologies to the customer.
GHMC issued notices to IKEA restaurant manager. GHMC als fined the store for Rs 11,500. IKEA explained that it procures prepared veg biryani from Haldiram at Nagpur. GHMC issued notices to Haldiram also and told they will take action once they get response from Haldiram.
