It is known news that Rajampet TDP MLA Meda Mallikarjuna reddy recently shifted his loyalties to YSRCP and TDP is in search of new candidate to contest from here this time. It is learnt that TANA president Sateesh Vemana has been aspiring for this seat and he was even given assurance by CBN earlier about MLA ticket. However, now CM Chandra Babu Naidu seems to be considering to field Chanagal Rayudu for MLA ticket in this constituency.
Sateesh Vemana, who has been TANA (Telugu Association of North America) president since 2017, has posted in social media that, CBN had convinced him about fielding Changal rayudu from this constituency in a meeting that involved all the three – CBN, Sateesh Vemana and Changal rayudu. He posted,”We had a meeting with Honorable CM Chandra babu naidu garu along with Mr Changal Rayudu. Rajampeta constituency. We had detailed discussion about the strategy and candidature of Rajampeta constituency. CM thinks Changal Rayudu would be nice fit in the current political situations considering all political calculations and assured me that he will take care of my future endeavours. As always, I honestly honor any of his decision and heartfully congratulate Changal Rayudu mama as Rajampeta TDP candidate. I made a promise to CM that with the support of Rajampeta TDP leaders and cadre, we will make sure TDP will retain the seat.”
Changal Rayudu is currently an MLC. He was originally Congress MLC but later, in February 2017, he joined into TDP. He is prominent leader in Kadapa district politics and also he is from Balija community that has more population in Rajampet MP Constituency area. As everybody knows, 2019 elections might have more influence of ‘caste factor’ in 2019 elections compared to 2014 or other previous elections of AP. So, it seems the phrase “considering all political calculations” in Sateesh Vemana’s post is referring these social equations. Earlier, there were reports about Janasena party receiving huge number of registrations through mobile from Rajamapeta area. Janasena leaders even publicized about reaching 50 thousand people registering for Janasena party from this area alone. Probably, considering all these ‘political calculations’, CBN might have decided to field Changal Rayudu from this constituency. He not only belongs to Balija community, but he is also one of the strong candidates in Kadapa district politics
Anyway, Sateesh Vemana also mentioned that CBN has (re)assured him of taking care of his future endeavors. We will have to wait and see how will be political future of Sateesh Vemana.
