Jana Sena Party President K Pawan Kalyan along with the doctors from Harvard Medical School met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday at secretariat to discuss about the Uddanam Chronic Kidney disease prevalent in Srikakulam district. Chandrababu appreciated Kalyan for taking up the issue which has been traumatising people for three decades now. He said that nobody was able to find the exact reason for the disorder yet and that researchers are citing multiple reasons. The TDP supremo said that the government has decided to set up a Uddanam kidney disorder research centre.
Chief Minister said that the government will consider the recommendations given by the Harvard specialists in finding a permanent solution to the chronic kidney disorder. He said that the state government is keenly working to solve the problem of Uddanam and that they have taken many steps to provide relief to the patients. Kalyan thanked Chandrababu for the immediate positive response and said that he would work with the state government to resolve the issue.
After the meeting with Harvard experts, Chandrababu had a separate meeting with Kalyan for about an hour. The duo reportedly discussed about Uddanam Nephropathy, Polvaram project, Amaravati, Manjunath Commission, Compensation for farmers and also about the latest political developments at the Centre.
Doctors from Harvard Medical School conducted a field study last week, which was followed by a Medical symposium on Sunday in Vishakapatnam. Andhra Pradesh Minister of Health Kamineni Srinivas Rao appreciated the efforts of the JSP chief and said that the issue of Uddanam is not related to politics. He informed that the Chief Minister is putting all his efforts to solve the problem. He said that ever since Kalyan took up the issue, the government has been taken action to provide better health services in the region.
