Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has reportedly once again avoided from giving a direct reply to Telangana Chief Minister Chandrashekar Rao’s plea on the issue of bifurcation of the High Court.
It may be recalled that Chief Minister has been making hectic efforts for the bifurcation of the High Court, as advocates and judges were agitating on this issue in Telangana since formation of the new state. Presently most of the judges in the High Court and also lower courts are originally hails from Andhra Pradesh. This has been leading to growing impatience among Telangana advocates.
On this issue, Chief Minister had earlier personally met the Supreme Court Chief Justice, Prime Minister and also union Law Minister. But the only response he could get was that unless Chandrababu Naidu shows a building it would not be possible for bifurcation of the High Court.
Chandrasekhar Rao even offered to allocate present High Court buildings for Andhra Pradesh, shifting Telangana High Court to some other place, till new buildings are get ready at Amaravati. Even then, Chandrababu Naidu seen indifferent.
As a last effort, he made this request again last evening at Raj Bhavan in the presence of the Governor ESL Narasimhan. On the request of Rao, Governor has arranged a separate meeting during “At Home” programme on the occasion of the Republic Day.
Even Governor had advised them to settle one by one problem amicably. But Chandrababu Naidu insisted for resolving all `pending problems’ together. He deplored that even after giving assurance for bifurcation of joint institutions mentioned in Schedule 10 of the bifurcation act, the Centre is yet to issue GO.
