Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today asked party cadre to ensure winning of Telugu Desam Party candidates in all 175 constituencies in 2019 polls. Welcoming YSRCP MLA Uppuleti Kalpana form Pamarru of Krishna district, Uppuleti Kalpana into Telugu Desam party this afternoon in Vijayawada, he said that opposition candidates should not get deposits in any constituency.
“The opposition may win in few constituencies here and there due to defections in our local leadership”, he said. Along with Kalpana, almost all opposition activists, including 2 ZPTCs, 14 MPTCs, 12 sarpanches and YCRCP’s four mandal party presidents also joined the TDP
Expressing happy Kalpana’s arrival, there would be no competition for TDP in her constituency, indicating to encourage large scale defections from other constituencies also, he sought to repeat the same in all constituencies. He is confident that opposition parties may unable to find suitable candidates to contest in many constituencies.
Asserting that his government is focusing on development, he said that many leaders from other parties joining TDP by seeking development. Lamenting that opposition parties are attempting to create hurdles to his developmental works with a fear if those projects are completed due to growing prosperity people may deserts them.
The TDP supreme assured that he will take the responsibility of gaining 80 per cent satisfactory levels from people with his developmental activities. He said the duty of party leaders is to take development and welfare programmes to the door steps of the people so that to secure 80 per cent satisfactory levels from them.
Uppuleti Kaplana is the second MLA from Krishna district to join TDP. Earlier, MLA from Vijayawada West Jaleel Khan had switched to TDP. The YSRCP won five Assembly segments in 2014 Elections. With Kalpana, the number of MLAs joined from YSRCP into ruling party reached 21. She said that she is joining TDP to develop her constituency.
