Strongly refuting opposition parties’ tirade against his frequent foreign visits, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has claimed that he has succeeded in promoting “Brand AP”, where India as a country failed. He even asserted that now it has come to a stage where people world over think India means Andhra Pradesh.
Particularly referring to his recent trip to Davos for the World Economic Forum conference, he has asserted that what India as a country could not do, Andhra Pradesh did. Stating that he has conducted at least 50 bilateral meetings with international agencies, he said that many big international companies evinced interest in setting up their shops in AP and sharing to know-how. However, he didn’t specified any project proposal.
He informed that the oil major Saudi Aramco would send a team to the State in 15 days to explore the possibility of developing a refinery in the state. In the same way, he said that Andhra Pradesh also will then send a team to Saudi Arabia for further discussions.
Moreover, he said that Vedanta group assured him that it would adopt 100 anganwadi centers on a pilot basis. The group also evinced interest in setting up mineral based industries here.
Revealing that he has offered to share know-how with many countries, the Chief Minister said that the state will help in developing an industrial township in Sri Lanka, so that to facilitate entrepreneurs from the state to set up their units there.
The University of Iowa has agreed to help in developing a seeds capital between Kurnool and Anantapur. He also indicated that Japan-based Kumi Umi Asset Management Company has promised to bring investment of 15 to 20 billion dollars for the development of new township between Tirupati and Sri City Special Economic Zone.
