The Jaganmohan Reddy government has stopped paying bills towards works completed under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS). It has resulted in non-payment of coolie to lakhs of rural labourers all over the state. Now, Opposition leader N Chandrababu Naidu wrote an open letter to CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy to immediately release the funds required for full and final payment to these labourers.
Naidu deplored that the rural agricultural workers are facing an unusual crisis due to the vague and anti-labourers policies of the government. He wondered why Jagan regime is not at all passing on the benefits of rural employment guarantee scheme to the poorer sections.
Naidu advised the YCP government to change its priorities from its present drive for demolitions, destructions and devastation. Because of political vendetta, the Krishna floods devastated residents of riverside villages. Quite alarmingly, rural poor people are not able to find enough works. It’s time Jagan opens his eyes to the ground reality.
