Without naming Leader of the Opposition YS Jaganmohan Reddy, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu likened him to US President Donald Trump and said the US President was showing the world how power could be misused if placed in the hands of the wrong man. He further asked “want a joker like Trump for Chief Minister?”
Addressing a conference of mandal education officers, headmasters and principals in Vijayawada last evening, bypassing all diplomatic protocols he minced no words in airing his opinion on US President Donald Trump. Citing the unconventional US President as an example, he said placing power in the hands of people like Trump was like handing a stone to a mad man.
Voicing concern over Trump’s attempt to impose restrictions on H-1B visas, Naidu said the U.S. had plunged into chaos as a consequence of the protectionist policy.
“Trump set an example of how an individual can damage a country. There are agitations all around and the whole of U.S. is under turmoil,” he added. He also hinted at the likely impact of the proposed conditions on non-immigrant visas on Indian IT professionals.
Stating that one out of every four software employees in the world was an Indian, he cautioned that Trump had sought to limit the H-1B visas and tried to clamp down on immigrant workers in other forms was not good for his own country.
Though he blamed Trump, he praised practical education like in USA, saying it will help students acquire job-oriented skills.
