Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is busy with the party and government affairs. He is holding a meeting of the party coordination committee after a gap of one month. The meeting assumes significance particularly after the successful conduct of the meeting at Tirupati on April 30 where he exposed the betrayal of BJP and Prime Minister Narenda Modi. He had planned to organised similar meetings in every district to expose BJP’s betrayal politics and YSR Congress party’s conspiracy politics.
Chandrababu Naidu had formed the coordination committee three years ago to handle the alliance with the BJP. The committee which included the BJP leaders too was initially formed with the politburo members, MPs and Ministers to ensure coordination between the TDP and the BJP leaders in the 13 districts, after complaints of communication gap between the two parties.
Now, even after the break-up of the alliance with the BJP, Chandrababu Naidu is continuing this coordination committee to discuss about the party’s strategy in continuing the fight against the BJP. In a way what was created to build coordination with the BJP is now being used to fight against the BJP. It is to be seen what decisions he would take at this coordination committee meeting.
The cabinet meeting scheduled for the evening is also important as it has to find ways to fund the two prestigious projects of Amaravati city and Polavaram Project. It is a known fact that the flow of funds from the Central government is alarmingly slow and he cannot stop either of them. Equally important is that there is money with the State government which is running on the external borrowings.
Interestingly, these two projects are going to be the core issues of TDP’s election campaign in 2019 and he needs to continue them come what may. It is to be seen how the Cabinet would help him find financial resources to keep the works progressing despite lack of support from the Central government.
