Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is set to host yet another conclave of the non-BJP chief ministers in New Delhi. Chandrababu Naidu, who had reached the national capital on Saturday evening, had closeted with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Benerji, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy in AP Bhavan. The three chief ministers are scheduled to meet their Delhi counterpart, Arvind Kejriwal, who is on protest at the Delhi Lieutenant Governor’s bungalow.
Before leaving for the Delhi Lieutenant Governor’s office, the three chief ministers have reportedly discussed about the plans to build a strong alternative to the Congress and the BJP at the national level. The three leaders, in their earlier meeting in Bengaluru have agreed to put up a strong fight against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Chandrababu Naidu is also planning to meet the Chief Ministers of Punjab and Pondicherry on Sunday morning before they attend the NITI Aayog conference. Though Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had initially mooted the idea of a secular front against the Congress-led UPA and the BJP-led NDA, Chandrababu Naidu gained greater support for the idea. However, with leaders like Mamata Benerji preferring Chandrababu Naidu to Chandrasekhar Rao, the TDP chief is taking the initiative to bring all the non-BJP chief ministers together, ahead of the 2019 general elections.
The team is impressively strong on Chandrababu Naidu’s side with six Chief Ministers taking his side, the TDP chief is set to put up a brave fight against Narendra Modi, both at the Sunday’s NITI Aayog meeting and later in the general elections. He is also planning to rope in several senior leaders of the non-Congress and the non-BJP parties to take on Narendra Modi in the next elections.
