Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu narrated how the BJP had denied the special category status to the State. Speaking after launching his Nava Nirmana Deeksha in Vijayawada, Chandrababu Naidu explained the series of events that happened in the last four years.
He said that the Special Category Status was the right of the people of the State and it can not be denied now. He said he had visited the national capital for 29 times to convince them on the special category status. Though he too had compromised with the BJP on denying the special category status and accepted the special package, he said he had to accept the BJP’s proposal as the BJP claimed that they were not extending the special category status to other States. However, he said that the BJP government had extended the status to other states without even a notification.
Chandrababu Naidu targeted the BJP leadership and Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his address to the people. He said that the BJP government at the Centre was not cooperating with the State in building the capital city Amaravati or completing the Polavaram project or filling the revenue gap. He also took the Central government to target for denying railway zone, steel plant, sea port and other benefits to the State. However, Amaravati and Polavaram are the two prime projects which are important for the State.
The Chief Minister promised to complete these two projects even if the Central government refuses to cooperate or delays releasing funds. He wanted people to support his mission and vision to complete Amaravati and Polavaram. He thanked the people for their faith in his leadership and experience to rebuild the State after unscientific bifurcation.
The Nava Nirmana Deeksha would continue till June 8 when he addresses a public meeting in Nellore.
