Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu made a significant visit to Delhi, meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other key central ministers. The visit focused on addressing crucial issues affecting Andhra Pradesh, particularly in the wake of recent devastating floods.
In his hour-long meeting with PM Modi, Chandrababu Naidu discussed the impact of heavy rains and flooding in the state, especially the Budameru overflow that submerged parts of Vijayawada. He requested additional funds to support flood relief efforts and emphasized the need to restart work on the Polavaram project. Chandrababu Naidu urged for swift action to begin construction of a new diaphragm wall by November, aiming to complete it before summer to prevent further delays.
Following his meeting with the Prime Minister, Chandrababu Naidu met with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. They discussed pending funds for central projects and the progress of the Visakhapatnam Railway Zone. Naidu also highlighted the importance of railway projects connecting Amaravati and the development of ports in the state.
In a social media post, Chandrababu Naidu expressed satisfaction with his “fruitful discussions” with PM Modi. He thanked the central government for approving revised cost estimates for the Polavaram project and appreciated the Prime Minister’s support for Amaravati. Naidu also mentioned discussing the state’s ongoing developments and receiving assurances of central support for addressing financial pressures.
Regarding his meeting with Railway Minister Vaishnaw, Chandrababu Naidu shared positive updates. He announced the potential foundation laying for the Visakhapatnam Railway Zone by December and thanked the minister for fulfilling this promise. Naidu also revealed plans for significant railway investments in Andhra Pradesh, including the four-laning of the Howrah-Chennai route and modernization of 73 stations.
Chandrababu Naidu Delhi tour is set to continue with scheduled meetings with other central ministers, including Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, to discuss national highway development and funding for Amaravati’s Outer Ring Road. He is also slated to meet with Home Minister Amit Shah and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, rounding off a busy and potentially pivotal visit for Andhra Pradesh’s development agenda.
