Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu seems to be in high spirits after getting a whopping Rs 1,981 crore assistance from NABARD, as first installment and attempting to boost it as a major achievement of his government. Now, wherever goes, he is mentioning about this achievement only.
Stating that Polavaram Project as a massive exercise, he felt that such magnificent project may not come in the future in the country. Now, he is moving quickly to speed up project works, targeting to complete main dam construction by the end of 2018. Chandrababu Naidu is expecting that this project would benefit him a lot for 2019 polls.
Immediately after getting NABARD funds, he is now making arrangements’ for the inauguration of project spillway works on December 30. The government has opted for conduct concrete works of Polavaram project with modernized machines which will speed up the work by 1,200 cubic meter per hour.
Chief Minister, along with Union ministers will inaugurate the 1,200 cubic meter pouring work to the spillway on December 30. The district administration is making arrangements expecting about one lakh people from two Godavari districts are likely to attend the public meeting held at the project site.
Chief Minister is also making arrangements for wide distribution of the 8-page booklet giving details of the project, particularly to the media in other districts also, so that to ensure this should catch attention of people all over the state. In this regard, he is assuring that same speed and interest to be taken up for completion of all other irrigation projects, particularly in Rayalaseema and North Coastal areas.
Naidu claims that if all the projects were completed, the State will be a drought free one, including Rayalseema ending the rowdyism and faction fights there.
