Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu at the review meetings reportedly vented ire on the Communists. Addressing press conference on Saturday, he incidentally noted that the left parties are provoking people of Hira Mandal by halting works related to the Vamsadhara project. Further they were accused of burning assets worth Rs 5 crore.
CPI(M) State secretary P. Madhu who was at the Vamsadhara project deplored the conduct of police and alleged that they were behaving like TDP goons. However, in a meeting with Naidu previously, he said that if compensation is provided to the victims of the Polavaram project, their party has no objection to the construction.
Chief Minister in the press conference today, did accept that compensation was not paid properly and said that most of the movements in project areas are related to the compensation and rehabilitation issues and not against projects.
The officials and party leaders are content over restraining several such movements in districts. Even though Naidu never deplored congress or the left parties post 2014, but several battles especially those related to land acquisition spearheaded by communist parties are not going down well with the TDP government.
