Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is making efforts to showcase his pet-practices at national level with regard to `cashless transactions’.
He is preparing to present his government’s recent initiatives at the first meeting of the central panel, headed by him, to be held tomorrow at the RBI headquarters in Mumbai. The committee is consists of five more chief ministers, besides few experts to discuss on demonetisatin-related issues.
However, he said that they will discuss a whole range of issues related to demonetisation and the focus would be more on transforming the country to a digital economy.
He is planning to present his government’s unique initiatives like AP Purse mobile application and ePoS-enabled ration distribution at the meeting. He said that he is convinced encouraging digital payments is the only solution to the current crisis. He felt spreading digital literacy to at least one member of each family is the key.
Chief Ministers Naveen Patnaik (Odisha), Shivraj Singh Chouhan (Madhya Pradesh), Pawan Kumar Chamling Sikkim), V Narayanasamy (Puducherry) and Devendra Fadnavis (Maharasthra) are part of his panel. NITI Aayog Vice-Chairman Arvind Panagariya and Amitabh Kant CEO, NITI Aayog, are also members of the committee.
However, he is yet to convince with Narendra Modi’s move of introducing Rs 2,000 notes. He asserts that would not help the poor.
