Telugu Desam Party supremo and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu babu Naidu has reportedly expressed his displeasure over the alleged `spectator’ attitude of ministers with regard to party activities. He seems to be more worried over growing groupism within party ranks in almost all districts. Most of ministers do not have cordial relations with MLAs.
At a recent party coordination committee meeting, Chief Minister asked them not to limit themselves to some official programmes, but should work hard to improve the image of the party and also resolve differences among party leaders, by extensively visiting various areas of the state.
Pointing out that some of them were focusing on their regular work, he said that the Ministers should feel it is their responsibility to strengthen party at grassroots level.
Moreover, TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh in this connection blamed ministers and district party leaders stating that they are acting like `postman’ by simply `forwarding’ problems among leaders surfaced in districts to the state office. He said that they should involve themselves to resolve certain issues. He said that district party presidents and in-charges should take the initiative to solve the local problems instead of depending on the State leadership.
Chandrababu Naidu said that in every district incharge minister, district minister/s and district party president should function like a `task force’ and try their best to resolve whatever problem surfaces within the district. Incharge ministers instead of just making some nominal visits to their respective districts, should spend atleast five days in a district every month, visits party offices and interact with party functionaries at various level.
Admitting that for the last two and half years he was unable to spare more time for organisational issues of the party, Chandrababu Naidu said hereafter daily he would spare about three hours for party affairs, conduct reviews district-wise and interact all leaders individually also, if needed.
