Dhruva Promotions, Ramcharan PR
A well planned release coupled with aggressive promotions can spur the chances of a film’s success at the box office even though if the content in film is not par with the expectations. In the last two years, Tollywood has taken a cue from both Bollywood and Hollywood and adopted aggressive promotional strategies to take the films deep into the audience. Almost all leading production houses and star heroes in Tollywood have recruited a bunch of active PR teams to promote their films ahead of their release. But, Megastar Ram Charan has thoroughly failed in adopting good promotional strategy for both Dhruva and Khaidi No 150.
While Dhruva is gearing up for release this December, Khaidi No 150 is set for Sankranthi release. Both these big ticket films are carrying heavy expectations among the audience and trade circles, but Charan and his team have failed to come up with the much needed aggressive promotions before their release.Though Chiranjeevi’s comeback film is one of the much awaited films this season, Konidela Productions has not deployed a notable PR team for promotions. For Dhruva, there is no clarity on who actually is the charge of PR team. There is no official announcement on the pre release event and trailer release dates. Also, Charan’s unavailability due to Dubai trip has further put an end to the promotions. With just two weeks left for the release, too late too little promotions can really dent the film’s chances of succeeding at the box office.
Many films in the last two years, despite having a so-so content, fared very well due to the aggressive promotional strategy and a timely release. Also, we have seen instances when films with good content failing to perform at the box office due to weak publicity and poor selection of release date. So, Charan and his team should make a note of this point and come up with good promotions for both Dhruva and Khaidi No 150 as both these films are very crucial for Charan.
