Talented singer cum dubbing artist Chinmayi Sripada has earned much following in social media not just for her work but also for her tremendous wittiness in opinions and voicing out her mind quite articulately. She also credits herself as a feminist with an edge and stood up for a reasonable cause when it comes to atrocities against women. But the real shock came when she joined the trending #MeToo movement which speaks about sexual harassment against women in the film industry.
Chinmayi shared a story about herself when popular Kollywood lyricist Vairamuthu tried to force her in an uncomfortable situation during a music tour in Switzerland. Immediately, actor Siddarth, Samantha, Chimayi’s husband Rahul Ravindran and Varalakshmi Sarathkumar came up for full support for Chinmayi’s tweets. This has spurred a big controversy because Vairamuthu is a Padma Bhushan awardee and has a great name in the film industry. The bold and confident Chinmayi also declared that she will fight for the cause even if she is banned from the industry for what she did.
Now, Chinmayi shocked everyone by bringing out another popular name in the music industry in this regard- he is none other than Raghu Dixit who sang extensively in Telugu films as well for composers like Devi Sri Prasad. Chinmayi retweeted an incident where Raghu Dixit was trying to wrongly approach her friend and created much discomfort to her at the workplace. This was indeed quite a surprise for many because Raghu Dixit himself is an accomplished musician with lot of fans for his independent productions.
Chinmayi seems to be quite determined in lashing out all those men who created such harassment and also bringing out stories of other women who faced similar issues from various walks of life.
