Hyderabad: Soon after the announcement from Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao that a cash reward of Rs 10,000 would be given to those inform about the illegal constructions and encroachments in Hyderabad, residents of Ratnakar Complex in Ameerpet on Sunday dashed off a letter to KCR. The residents alleged that several buildings were constructed without proper authorisation from the government.
There was no response from the GHMC officials even after lodging complaints repeatedly over the illegal constructions, the residents rued. The residents also alleged that builder Ratnakar Rao along with his supporters resorted to attack against them and threatened to foist criminal cases against the former.
After lessons being learnt from the torrential rains that were lashing Hyderabad for more than one week now, the Chief Minister on Saturday stressed the need for whacking a whip against the illegal constructions across the storm water drains (nalas) in the city. The illegal constructions are obstructing the storm water, whenever a few spells of rains lash the city.
The rains are constantly causing severe water-logging and hindering its way leading to Musi river. KCR said that the operation demolition would be taken up after the monsoon.
