National Security Advisor Ajit Doval is a key person in the Delhi power corridors. Modi-Shah are putting total trust in his capacity to handle all security related matters of the country. Doval successfully completed the abrogation of Article 370 on Kashmir issue. In any circumstance, Doval would have no occasion to take notice of AP affairs. But now, surprisingly, his attention is drawn to the appointment of Manish Kumar Sinha as the new intelligence chief of AP. Manish previously worked in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). For his own reasons, Manish had submitted negative reports in the court against Doval in the conflict between CBI officers Alok Verma and Rakesh Asthana. Manish complained that Doval had also taken bribes.
Following these complicated issues, the Centre has cancelled deputation and sent Manish back to his home cadre state which is Andhra Pradesh. For the past six months, CM Jagan Reddy has waited for YSR family favourite IPS officer Stephen Ravindra to take over intelligence chief. But the Centre did not approve his deputation from Telangana. With no further choice, Jagan Reddy searched for a trustworthy IPS among the available officers. Manish was finally selected though he was known for his past differences with Doval and the Modi government. Bureaucratic and political circles say that Jagan would have deliberately selected Manish as the officer would be naturally anti-BJP. MP Vijayasai Reddy is now anxious on how to prevent further trouble from Modi-Shah on this episode.
