It is known news that Congress party announced, it will go alone in Andhra Pradesh elections without alliances with any other party. With this, discussions started in Andhra Pradesh about how this will impact and whose votes it will dent.
Congress party has paid heavily for the grave mistake it committed during bifurcation and it lost in all the constituencies it contested in 2014 in AP . In 2019 also it may not open account in AP assembly. However, it still has some votes in each and every constituency, especially among older generation of scheduled castes who got benefited by land reforms implemented by Congress party.
Now, even though congress can’t win any seats, as per political pundits, it may split some percent of votes that may otherwise go to YSRCP. As there are many segments in which candidates lost elections with a minor margin of 1000-2000 votes in last couple of elections, political analysts are opining that congress going alone will definitely have adverse impact on YSR CP.
We will have to wait and see whether Congress going alone will really impact YSR CP in elections are not.
