Though Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao seems to be adjusted himself with the sudden cancellation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled appointment to the all-party delegation under his leadership for today, the Congress and Left parties accusing it as a foul play. They were scheduled to meet Prime Minister over SC categorisation issue.
They saw this as a step taken by the BJP leadership to checkmate the plans of Chandrasekhar Rao to “derive political mileage” by leading an all-party delegation on this issue. However, ruling TRS leaders dismissing such possibility, stated that the Prime Minister was busy with elections in five states, so the proposed meeting was postponed.
Telangana CPI state secretary Chada Venkat Reddy and party national secretary K Narayana said that it is nothing but discrimination against Telangana. By resorting to this step, they alleged that the Centre has insulted the people of Telangana.
Joining chorus with them, Congress veteran and former Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao too wondered how the PMO could cancel the appointment fixed for the meeting of the all-party delegation with the Prime Minister.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Rao after reaching New Delhi last night to attend the marriage reception of Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar’s son, later today, is again making attempts for Modi’s appointment on today or tomorrow.
A TRS leader said that if he gets PM’s appointment, Chief Minister Rao will meet and seek more funds to the State in the Union budget, besides requesting Modi to take steps to give President’s nod for the new land bill, passed by the Assembly.
During his stay in the national capital, Chandrasekhar Rao is expected to call on President Pranab Mukherjee to invite him to kick off the Osmania University Centenary Celebrations to begin in April. Besides, this, he will also meet Union Ministers Rajnath Singh and Arun Jaitley, besides few more, to seek funds for the State
