The congress party, which is planning to announce its candidates on either 12 or 13 of this month, is planning to overcome upcoming impediments by rebels, whose name will not be in the list, by offering MLC and other nominated posts to them in order to defeat the ruling party TRS. The TPCC is planning to implement similar strategy with its alliance party leaders in Mahakutami.
Though the TPCC did not announce its candidates, few aspirants along with their supporters have already started protests at Gandhi Bhavan seeking tickets. Sniffing the upcoming threats, the TPCC has begun convincing such leaders with party seniors. They are explaining about AICC’s internal survey on choosing candidates and promising them on Market Committees, Corporation Chairman and other nominated posts.
The Congress has already promised its alliance party CPI on two MLC seats as it would be given only three assembly segments. “The strength in the Telangana Legislative Council is 40. The term of six members will ends by March 29, and in phased-manner, the ruling party (if Mahakutami forms government) will have chances in sending its leaders to council. As many as 14 members will be elected by the MLAs and based on the number of seats to be won, the congress and Mahakutami will have chances of electing more MLCs in coming future. Meanwhile, the seats will be vacated in Graduates and Teachers quota. Besides this, Governor’s quota is another option in giving chances to political unemployed leaders from the alliance parties,” the sources added.
