Disturbing with governments provocative attitude by suspending opposition members from Telangana assembly today, Congress legislators are considering to move no-confidence motion against Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. Former minister D K Aruna said that the trend shows the ruling party is intending to conduct assembly sessions as per their will, ignoring the presence of opposition. Protesting against suspension of their party MLAs, leader of opposition K Jana Reddy today staged walk out from the house.
Stating that it is natural for the opposition to raise public issues, Aruna warned “if they continue to suspend us from the house, we will expose this government’s true colours midst of people. If necessary we will move no-confidence motion.”
At the beginning of the assembly session, Congress members given adjournment motion seeking a discussion on issue of disqualification of defected MLAs. TDP and BJP members also given motions on educational problems. Speaker Madhusudhana Chary suggested to take up issue of those motions after the question hour, but the opposition insisted to take up immediately. As a result, 11 members, 9 from Congress and 2 from TDP were suspended from the house.
Later, seeking the government to reconsider its suspension move, Jana Reddy asked is there any occasion where the government allowed discussion on the issues raised by the opposition. He lamented that it was undemocratic to suspend members within two minutes. He alleged that they were suspended only to prevent from raising government failures, even before they entered the well.
However, deploring that Congress resorting to `murder of democracy’, Legislature Affairs Minister T Harish Rao asked why they didn’t raised issue of defections at Business Advisory Committee meeting. He wondered that Jana Reddy, who didn’t raised his voice being a minister in the united AP assembly when MLAs were suspended for only raising `Jai Telangana’ slogans, is known questioning suspensions.
