Congress MLAs in Telangana assembly seems to be impatient with the attitude of the Speaker Madhusudhana Chary. Accusing not respecting democratic norms and long-standing traditions of the house to facilitate space for opposition, many Congress MLAs are protesting against his attitude.
Leader of Opposition K Jana Reddy announced that Congress MLAs are actively considering to move no-confidence motion against Assembly Speaker Madhusudhana Chary. At Congress Legislature Party office, several MLAs have been expressing their discontent openly over the conduct of the house the speaker.
Jana Reddy accused that Speaker has been violating democratic norms and traditions to respect opposition view position. “For the last couple of days, since beginning of the winter session of the Assembly, unfortunately the speaker is not following basic democratic norms”, he deplored.
Alleging that Congress members are not allowed in the house to speak, he wondered when the ruling party creating hurdles, the Speaker remains as a silent spectator. Congress members’ reminded that it was the duty of the speaker to put the house in order by preventing whoever may be creating hurdles.
With referring to yesterday’s house proceedings, Jana Reddy recalled that Congress demanded for CBI probe after a discussion on Gangstar Nayeem’s encounter. But Chief Minister K Chadnrasekhar Rao rejected the same. He wonders that after Chie Minister’s response no opportunity was given to the opposition to seek clarifications from the government. The Speaker adjourned the house abruptly.
He deplored that the Speaker was adamant when Congress members approached him. On the very second day of the winter session, Jana Reddy expressed his discontent over the conduct of the Speaker when all Congress members, except him were suspended from the house with in few minutes of the beginning of the day.
According to him, Congress senior leader Bhatti Vikramarka was suspended though he was standing from his seat and not created by disturbance. “When in parliament the speaker adjourning the sessions days together respecting opposition’s concerns, I wonder why here the government is impatient to face their dissidence even for few minutes”, he added.
