Congress leaders heaved a sigh relief following the granting of bail to party president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi this afternoon by the New Delhi Metropolitan Magistrate Court.
Till the Channels broke the news, Telangana Congress leaders were organizing protest rallies, effigy burning of Prime Minister Modi and Subramanya Swamy. They performed pujas in temples and other places of worship for the well-being of their party leaders Sonia and Rahul. A protest rally was organized on Necklace Road in Hyderabad under the leadership of GHMC area Congress president Danam Nagender. TPCC president N Uttamkumar Reddy, former minister J Gita Reddy former MPs Anjan Kumar Yadav, G Vivek participated in the program organized to protest against the vindictive attitude of Modi government in dealing with the National Herald case. Police took Danam, Uttam and Gita Reddy into custody and released later on a personal bond. They said they would organize Jail Bharo if NDA government conspired to send Sonia and Rahul to Jail.
Another protest program was organized at Ranga Reddy collectorate in which former PCC President Ponnala Lakshmaiah, former MLA G Sudheer Reddy and district Congress president K Mallesh participated. As for other areas in the state, PCC working president Bhatti Vikramarkah led the program in Khammam while Telangana Mahila Congress president N Sarada organized the protest march in Karimanagar. Later they expressed satisfaction over the outcome of the court.
