It is just couple of days for D-day in Telangana for all political parties. Most of the people might have already decided regarding whom to cast their vote. But political parties are still campaigning to attract a few more voters to their side. Almost all the political parties have been campaigning very aggressively this time. But one thing that surprised people is the volume of advertisements Congress party is giving in print and electronic media. Usually, unlike TDP, Congress party doesn’t give these many ads in media. Moreover T-Congress is seen as the party with funds scarcity. So, people are surprised seeing so many Congress ads this time and people have couple of questions regarding this.
Is CBN providing monetary support to T-Congress?
In last one week, Congress is giving full page ads in almost all the papers. In TV also, there have been lot of ads by Congress party. As per unofficial reports, Congress is spending almost 3 crores per day for these ads in paper and TV. People are wondering, from where money is coming for T-Congress party. Ever since TDP joined the grand alliance with Congress, CPI and TJS, there have been rumors that Chandra Babu is providing the monetary support to the parties in the alliance. Now, by seeing the aggressive campaigning of Congress, people are believing those rumors. Some political opponents of Chandra babu have been alleging that Chandra Babu is routing the illegal money he is earning in AP to Telangana elections.
Is CBN providing ‘media’ support to T-Congress?
On September 6th, when KCR announced early elections, almost everyone thought that it would be a cakewalk for KCR to sweep this elections, thanks to the welfare schemes he implemented in last 4 years. But now, there have been reports from all sides that, even though TRS has an edge, it is not really cakewalk for him as Praja Kootami is going to give him very tough fight. The question is – how ‘Praja Kootami’ became so strong in a span of two months? Many people attribute this to the support Congress and its allies got from Telugu media. Most of the media houses promoted Congress rigorously in last one month. And then, the next question is why these media houses that never supported Congress – not only in last 4 years but even earlier also- started supporting Congress out and out now. Again, many people attribute this shift by print and electronic media to Chandra Babu factor. It is known news that TDP and Chandra Babu enjoy the maximum support of Telugu media, for the reasons known to everyone.
Will this strategy work-out?
Whether Chandra Babu is really providing the monetary and media support to Congress or not cannot be proved. But now, most of the people believe that it is because of Chandra Babu, Congress got this kind of support from media. Even KTR commented that Chandra Babu is doing politics in Telangana with help of money and media. But whether this strategy fetch votes or not will be known by next week only.
