The Congress leaders, who were seen actively involving in Telangana by reaching out the masses responding to the AICC’s call for all-out agitations opposition Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s demonetisation of high-value currency, have succeeded in making its cadre active. The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) is not losing any opportunity to regain its lost ground in the state by launching agitations on issues concerning people.
As part of series of its agitations against demonetisation, the Party will be holding a state-level convention “Jana Avedana Sammelanam”, as part of the anti-demonetisation campaign today at Jayalakshmi Gardens in Secunderabad .
During the day-long event, to be attended by its senior leaders and workers from across the state, AICC chief spokesperson Randip Singh Surjewala and Karnataka minister D K Shivakumar will be main speakers. The party is focusing on educating the people about the hardships caused by various sections of people because of “unplanned” execution of demonetisation move by the Centre.
In its bid to cash in on the resentment among some sections of people over demonetisation, the TPCC leadership has so far organised dharnas, rallies and other forms of protests across the state, besides a dharna in front of RBI regional headquarters in Hyderabad.
Expressing satisfaction over the response to their agitations on this issue, TPCC working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said the way prime minister Narendra Modi had executed demonetisation decision “impulsively”, proved that Modi had become a despot.
He said that people are realising how Modi has created untold hardships to every section of people from low-income group to middle-class people by cancelling the high- value notes without taking any precautions but only to satisfy his ego.
