Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee President N Raghuveera Reddy today given a call for `Prasniddam Randi’ (Let’s Question) protest in front of the temporary secretariat at Velagapudi of Guntur district, on December 23. He said this will be a protest against the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s demonetization policy.
Stating that the demonetization policy has pushed the poor and the middle class people into severe hardships, he said that the people are fed up with the ban which is anti-people and anti-poor. “We want to question the government as to what purpose the demonetisation move has served”, he added.
He deplored that on one hand the common people are postponing marriages of their kin due to demonetization while on the other BJP leaders are throwing lavish parties by spending crores of rupees for conducting marriages of their kin. He asked the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu as to why he had not written to the Centre to abolish Rs 2000 denomination notes.
Meanwhile, Raghuveera Reddy too join with other leaders in alleging that former TTD Trustee Board member Sekhar Reddy is a benami of Chandrababu Naidu. It may be recalled that he from the TTD Board following the detection of huge amounts of cash and gold from his premises by the Income Tax Department during raids in Chennai.
He said that that despite having acquaintances in Chennai, Chandrababu chose to appoint Sekar Reddy as the TTD member. He wanted to know on what criteria he was appointed as TTD board member.
