Hyderabad: Situation is turning worst day by day as the pending repair works of Hyderabad roads are delayed. Due to the uneven roads filled with potholes two youngsters were killed last week. Commutation has become torturous and Hyderabadis are expressing anger against the administration.
The unchecked contracting works are leaving a hole in the government’s pockets as many of the GHMC contractors are allegedly claiming the bills for unrepaired roads. It is learnt that Telangana Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma has expressed anger over the issue. He directed the officials to submit the details of bills that are being claimed by the contractors. As per the report published in Telugu daily Andhra Jyothi, total of Rs 100 crore scam is taken place in GHMC on the city roads. The newspaper also divulged the details of areas where no single work has been done.
However, there seems to be no response from Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao or his son and Municipal Administration Minister K T Rama Rao. Will there be an action against those contractors who illegitimately claim the bills for unrepaired roads? Or the government pass the Rs 100 crore bill for the roads? Only KCR could answer this question.
