Corona raised its ugly head in the Hyderabad District Collectorate. At least 15 employees of Hyderabad District Collectorate are believed to have tested positive for Covid-19. Hyderabad Collector Swetha Mohanty was also tested positive for the deadly infection.
Swetha Mohanty is the first top bureaucrat to have contracted the virus. The collector’s driver and operator were also tested positive for Covid-19.
Swetha Mohanty is known for her able administration. The 2011 batch IAS officer worked as Wanaparthy Collector before she was transferred and posted as Hyderabad Collector during her stint in Wanaparthy for over three years.
Earlier, at least 30 employees at Chief Minister’s official residence Pragati Bhavan were tested positive for coronavirus following which K Chandrasekhar Rao moved to his farm house in Gajwel. The virus also entered the CMO, Secretariat, GHMC and Metro Rail Bhavan with several employees tested positive for Covid-19.
It is learnt that several bureaucrats went into quarantine after Swetha Mohanty tested positive for COVID-19. Tracing of all the people who had come in contact with the collector in recent days began.
