The CPM is making moves to unite all the oppositions parties against unilateral policies of the Chandrababu Naidu government in Andhra Pradesh, so that to intensify various ongoing people’s agitations in the state.
Indicating his party’s strategic move, CPM state secretary P Madhu said that already people’s agitations have increased in the State against the TDP’s autocratic rule in 2016. He predicted that more agitations will take place in 2017 if the State government continues the same autocratic policies.
He demanded that the State government immediately withdraw decisions on forcible land acquisition in the State. Referring to land acquisition, he alleged that the Telugu Desam government was trying to amend the Land Acquisition -2013 policy made by the Union government with a view to forcibly take the land from the farmers without providing adequate compensation to the displaced families or land owners.
The former Rajya Sabha member deplored that as many as 2.5 lakh families would be affected with the construction of Polavaram project and warned that the CPM would stall Polavaram project works if the government fails to resolve the problems of the displaced families. He said that farmers are also revolting against government in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, West Godavari, East Godavari and other Coastal districts against the forcible land acquisition.
He reminded that a large number of villagers raised revolt in Srikakulam district against the government for its failure to resolve the problems of Vamsadhara project affected people. He alleged that the government had not resolved the problem even after two years.
The CPM leader reminded that villagers in East Godavari are up in arms against the government on Divis Factory. He reminded that the villagers have raised a banner of revolt against the food processing unit in Tondurru village in West Godavari district.
