Former minister and senior Congress leader D K Aruna today fired daughter’s sentiment against Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao while participating in a discussion on housing programme of the state government.
Referring to that the government has constructed over 2,000 double-bed room houses in Siddipet constituency, represented by irrigation minister T Harish Rao, who is nephew of the Chief Minister, she asked the Chief Minister “It is not sufficient if you could focus on your son-in-law’s constituency, I am also like your daughter, please shower your sympathies towards my constituency too”.
Recalling that Chief Minister had promised to construct 10 lakh double-bed room houses during his five year’s term, she said already half of the term was over, now at least he should say how many houses would be constructed in the remaining period. She alleged that horridly houses were completed in two villages of Siddipet constituency only to show cause in Assembly debates, but the government is not in a mood to fulfil its promise.
Strongly objecting Chief Minister’s allegations of large scale corruption during Congress regime’s Indiramma houses construction, she said earlier Congress government also conducted probe into such allegations and taken action against some responsible officials. She alleged that the government has been stopping payment of bills for Indiramma houses on the plea of such allegations. Stating that the CID probe has been continuing since two and half years, she asked when they would be completed.
Meanwhile, another Congress MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy also sought the government to reveal how many houses would be constructed in the next two years. Accusing that the government grabbed votes during polls bluffing to build double-bed room houses for them, he warned that it would not be possible to cheat them for a long. He said that he is aware about the miserable financial position of the state government after demonetisation and it would not be possible for the government to go ahead with double-bed room houses.
