Narendra Modi’s decision of currency demonetization created a huge stir across the country and real estate, film industry have been badly affected because of the move. Trade analysts already revealed the impact of it on Telugu cinema. Veteran actors Megastar Chiranjeevi and Nandamuri Balakrishna are gearing up with their films Khaidi No 150 and Gautamiputra Satakarni which will hit the screens during Sankranthi 2017. Both the films have been sold out for massive prices in all the territories. With Sankranthi a massive season for films, buyers bought these films crossing the financial strengths of the actors.
It has been revealed that 25% of the commitment has been given as advance by buyers from all the areas. Some of them even paid upto 35% and here came the real shock as the distributors revealed that they would be able to pay the rest of the amount only after the release of the film. With the currency discontinuation, it is a challenge for the distributors to pay the complete amount in white. Hence the producers of both the films are now left in shock and are unable to come out with a bold step opposing the buyers. Even if the distributors are asked to pay the rest of the amount, some of them are already in plans to backout of these projects asking the makers to return their advance.
Khaidi No 150 and Gautamiputra Satakarni are currently in deep financial crisis and we have to wait and see how the makers of both these films will step out from the barriers. Both the films will hit the screens during the Sankranthi season 2017.
