Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan conducted a thorough inspection of the Saraswati Power lands in Palnadu district, focusing on properties previously allocated to former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. The inspection took place in Vemavaram and Chennayapalem of Machavaram mandal, accompanied by MLA Yarapatineni and district officials.
The disputed lands have become a focal point of controversy as Pawan Kalyan revealed several concerning findings during his visit. Farmers were reportedly pressured to sell their lands against their will, with many facing intimidation tactics. A particularly troubling discovery was the conversion of 400 acres of forest land into revenue land, along with an unauthorized lease extension from 30 years to 50 years. Additionally, 24.78 acres of tanks and lakes were illegally acquired.
“Natural resources don’t belong to any individual,” stated Pawan Kalyan during the inspection. He questioned the allocation of 196 crore liters of water to an unbuilt cement factory, emphasizing that access to natural resources should prioritize job creation for local communities.
During his visit, Pawan Kalyan met with affected farmers and assured them of government support. The situation is particularly severe in Vemavaram, where 20 acres remain under dispute. Special attention was given to SC families who lost 24 acres of land through alleged coercion. The Deputy CM promised strong action against those using intimidation tactics against local landowners.
Pawan Kalyan expressed serious concerns about the deteriorating law and order situation in the region. He highlighted ongoing intimidation by supporters of the previous government, including the use of petrol bombs and country-made bombs. The Deputy CM referenced past incidents, including the harassment case of Kodela Siva Prasad Rao, emphasizing the need for immediate action.
“Are police officers becoming too lenient or are they afraid?” Pawan Kalyan questioned, calling for stronger law enforcement presence in the area. He emphasized that maintaining law and order is crucial for protecting local residents and their rights.
The Deputy CM concluded by warning that former YSRCP leaders are still acting as if they’re in power. He stressed that a clear message needs to be sent about the strength of law and order in the region, promising swift action against any attempts to disrupt peace and security.
