The Ram Charan starrer Dhruva had a good first weekend at the overseas box office, but there is still a long way to go for break even. After collecting $ 466K from its opening day ( including premiers), the action drama notched up stunning figures on Saturday – $ 343K and stood in the fourth place of 1st Saturday top Telugu films of 2016. Despite the harsh weather conditions, Dhruva managed a superb haul in all areas on Saturday, making it the highest grosser in Charan’s career.

On Sunday, Dhruva managed to collect $ 146K, taking the total past $ 950K. The film will surpass the magic Million mark probably by Tuesday. Dhruva should collect around $ 1.5 Million for break even, which is a very long way. The next weekend will decide the fate of the overseas distributors. Considering the season and the bad weather conditions, Dhruva performed decently in its first weekend. In Telugu states, the collections are steady over the weekend.

Directed by Surender Reddy, Dhruva is an official remake of Thani Oruvan. Aravind Swamy and Rakul Preet Singh played crucial roles in the film.
