Stating that the AP Government imposed anti-Hindu rules and sanctioned restrictions on Ganesh festival celebrations, the BJP suggested the pilgrims not to obey the new restrictions. In a press conference on Monday here, GVL Narasimha Rao, Rajya Sabha member of BJP stated that the Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy should left all the restrictions imposed on Ganesh festival. He said that the Chief Minister was acting like an anti-Hindu and the Government of Andhra Pradesh was creating hurdles in all Hindu festivals. He said that the Government should maintain secularism in the State.
The BJP leader observed that the Chief Minister was allowing Christians and Minorities to celebrate their festivals without any restrictions and encouraging the people to celebrate Christmas even at the Police Stations. On the other hand, the same Government has not been allowing the Hindus to celebrate their festivals even at their homes.
While criticising the excessive involvement of the State government in Ganesh festival celebrations, the BJP leader said that the Police department also imposed many restrictions on Ganesh Festival Committees.
On the other hand, he announced that the BJP would strengthen their party across 175 Assembly Constituencies and organize ground level meetings at more than 5000 places in the State in the coming days. He also announced that the BJP would celebrate the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the State. The BJP would also conduct in the ensuing MLC elections in the State in the month of February, he said.
