The government of Andhra Pradesh is all set to host the country’s largest drone show in Amaravati, with 5,500 drones taking to the skies on February 22 and 23. The two-day drone summit, organized by the state government in association with the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Drone Federation of India, and CII, aims to make Amaravati the “Drone City of India”.
Chief Secretary Neerab Kumar Prasad reviewed the preparations for the summit and instructed officials to ensure that the event is conducted smoothly. He said that the summit will feature 40 exhibition stalls showcasing drone technology and will be attended by 400 delegates from central and state governments, IITs, engineering colleges, and other professional organizations.
The summit will discuss ways to make India a global drone hub by 2030, with panel discussions on drone regulations, applications in agriculture, education, health, logistics, mapping, and surveying, as well as public safety and digital land records.
Andhra Pradesh government aims to generate Rs 6,000 crore in revenue from the drone industry in the next five years, with an investment of Rs 2,000 crore. The government also plans to create employment opportunities for 30,000 people and train 20,000 youth as drone pilots.
Andhra Pradesh government has prepared a five-year drone policy, which will be unveiled at the summit. The policy aims to promote the growth of the drone industry in the state and make Andhra Pradesh a leader in drone technology.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Union Minister of Civil Aviation Suresh Prabhu, and Minister BC Janardhan Reddy will attend the summit, which will also feature a drone show with 5,500 drones.
