Excise and Enforcement Director Akun Sabharwal said the charge sheet will be filed in the court by the end of December in the drugs case. Speaking to media on Friday, he said that the investigation of the drugs case will continue to be active.
He said that in the due course of investigation, the witnesses are being questioned and based on the discussions with NCP officials and lawmakers’ evidences are being collected. Special Investigation team had arrested 22 individuals in the 11 cases registered so far. Mr.Sabharwal said that the details about the witnesses cannot be disclosed now.
In the case of probing the film personalities, the police will act as per the law. He said that they have sent the samples collected from the Tollywood actors to the forensics department. The police are awaiting report from the forensics.
Mr. Sabharwal said that the government is supporting the SIT in the drugs probe. He said that they are ensuring to create awareness about Drugs menace and are striving to bring about social responsibility among people by educating them. He added that the educational institutions have responded positively to the drive.
