Dusheera is one of the most preferred seasons by our filmmakers to release their films and rake in solid revenues. Every year, audience get to see atleast two to three big ticket films along with a couple of medium and small budget films during the Dusheera season. Unlike previous years, there are no big ticket films slated for Dusheera release this year. But, a flurry of small and medium budget films are gearing up to entertain the film goers.
Ram Charan’s Dhruva was the only big ticket film that was supposed to hit the screens for Dusheera, but due to various reasons the film has been postponed. This has prompted a bunch of medium budget films to book slots for Dusheera. Some of the much awaited films like Kalyan Ram’s Ism under Puri Jagannadh’s direction and Ram’s Hyper with 14 Reels Entertainment have already booked berths for pre- Dusheera release.
Naga Chaitanya’s eagerly awaited film Premam, which was supposed to hit the screens in September, has been confirmed to hit the screens on October 7th. Also, joining the race are Sunil’s ‘Eedu Gold Ehe’ and Prakash Raj’s Mana Voori Ramayanam, which are fast finishing their production activities to hit the screens for Dusheera. Tamannaah’s upcoming bilingual thriller Abhinetri and Nikhil Kumar’s Jaguar are also in the fray which will vie for box office success this Dusheera.
A couple of dubbing films and a few more low budget Telugu films are likely to enter the Dusheera race. With a slew of movies set for release during the festive season, moviegoers are in for a bigger treat this October.
