Opposition YSR Congress has expressed apprehension that the proceedings of Ethics Committee headed by Deputy Speaker M Budha Prasad would end up as one-sided affair.
The party alleged that the committee had not taken its view point seriously. Speaking to reporters after the meeting of the Committee here on Monday, Party MLA G Srikanth Reddy said the Committee failed to give satisfying answers to the issues raised by the party and the attitude of the panel was loaded heavily in favour of the Government
“During the meeting, the committee has targeted the Opposition Party and paid no heed to the issues we have raised. It seems that the intention is very clear – only to target the opposition. When we asked about lodging a complaint as to how the house proceedings were leaked in the social media, there was no convincing reply from the government. It makes things too obvious,’ he said.
Stating that the committee did not discuss the abusive remarks of TDP leaders who were very harsh on the Opposition and this was an indicator of the things to come, Srikanth Reddy said MLA RK Roja had moved the court with the apprehension that she would not get a fair deal in the probe by the Committee.
The committee is slated to meet on February 19 again before submitting its report.
