Tollywood directors love Europe. Even if the story doesn’t call for it, songs are routinely shot in the picturesque locales of Switzerland, Spain etc. The recent political and economic developments in the European Union have come about as a mixed bag for Tollywood.
On one hand, the Euro and the British Pound are at very low values. This will mean a substantial savings for producers as they now have to shell out fewer Indian rupees to shoot in Europe. But at the same time, the refugee crisis and the extremist threats have ensured stringent visa regimes.
Most of the staff working for Telugu movies do not have proper identification papers. They do not have proper income tax records etc that are sought by the authorities for issuing a visa. These things tend to become a problem and many film units are facing issues with visas for technical crew.
