Former Minister Suddala Devaiah could not get Congress ticket in Telangana December elections. He is blaming Congress Telangana Working President Ponnam Prabhakar for the big blow in his four decades of political career. It is Ponnam Prabhakar who has requested Devaiah to resign from Telugu Desam Party and join Congress by promising to give him Congress ticket to contest assembly elections.
With Devaiah’s name missing in Congress lists, he began enquiries as to what really happened behind the scenes that caused his fate. He found out that Ponnam Prabhakar has not recommended his name to the selection committee, a technical mistake that led to disqualification of Devaiah for ticket allotment.
Devaiah was a former MLA from Choppadandi SC segment in Karimangar district. He has taken serious objection to what he termed as a gross betrayal by Prabhakar, something that he had not faced in his four decades career. Devaiah is now angry and he decided to enter the election fray on some other party ticket. He deplored that had he remained with the TDP, he would have been one of the first few persons to get MLA ticket.
Devaiah is now saying that he will be able to get some other party ticket easily as his clean record is known everywhere. He asserted that he had never mortgaged his self-respect for the sake of petty political gains ever.
