With overseas market shrinking and Telugu biggies failing to make a huge impact in other southern states, Rajamouli and the team is rethinking about the high budget for ‘RRR’. An insider informed us that Rajamouli is assessing the current market situation. Though ‘Sye Raa’ and ‘Saaho’ have flopped in overseas and other south Indian states, Rajamouli’s team is confident that their film will have a positive impact among the trade circles. Because Rajamouli is a bigger brand than any star today. His name spells the magic at the box-office.
So, there is no need to press the panic button.
But sources have also informed us that Rajamouli might be cutting down a bit of expenditure to keep the expenses under control. He is planning to squeeze as much money as possible from non-theatrical revenue and plan the budget accordingly.
At the time of first press meet held early this year, producer DVV Danayya said the film’s budget would be in the range of Rs 350 to 400 crore. Now, the team is planning to not to cross Rs 250 crore. The team may boast bigger amount for promotional and business reasons but the actual budget would be just around Rs 250 Cr.
Rajamouli has clearly understood the changed situation of market conditions.
On the other hand, the film’s shooting is in progress at a slower pace. Despite Ram Charan’s statement that ‘RRR’ is on its course to meet the deadline, the insiders say the film will not be released on July 30, 2020.
‘RRR’ has NTR and Ram Charan as the heroes. Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, and a foreign actress will be seen in other key roles. M M Keeravani is providing the music.
