In a shocking incident, a family from Jeevakona in Tirupati was kidnapped for a ransom of two crore rupees. The victim managed to escape while being transported to Chittoor in a car and alerted the police. He is currently receiving treatment at Ruia Hospital with the help of locals.
Rajesh from Jeevakona in Tirupati works as an insurance agent and runs a Meeseva center. He lives with his mother Vijayalakshmi, wife Sumati, and daughters Yoshita and Jashmita. Rajesh had financial dealings with his childhood friend Bhargav, who borrowed about 24 lakh rupees but never returned them.
The trouble began in February when Rajesh couldn’t pay his credit card bill. Bank staff visited his home, and his mother, Vijayalakshmi, blamed Bhargav for their financial troubles. Seeking revenge, Bhargav pretended everything was normal while plotting behind the scenes.
Bhargav introduced Rajesh to his friend Arun Kumar, claiming they needed to discuss a business deal. On Friday evening, they lured Rajesh, his mother, and children to an apartment on Karakambadi Road. The family was held captive in separate rooms and threatened for two crore rupees.
While transporting Rajesh to Chittoor to collect money from relatives, he managed to escape near Alipiri despite being hit with an iron rod. Local people helped him reach the hospital through 108 ambulance services.
Police have registered a case and formed two teams to search for the four abducted family members. The kidnappers’ phones are switched off, and CCTV footage and call data are being analyzed to track them down.
