Bollywood actress and politician Kangana Ranaut has been facing the heat for her upcoming movie Emergency. The film faced challenges from the Censor Board and some of the Sikh communities have been protesting against the film. With no option left, Kangana Ranaut had to postpone the film’s release. The film has been referred to the Revision Committee and Emergency is finally granted censor certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification. “We have received the certificate for our movie ‘Emergency’, we will be announcing the release date soon, thank you for your patience and support. @manikarnikafilms @zeestudiosofficial @nishantpitti” posted Kangana.
Emergency is based on the life story of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Some of the controversial topics during her regime are discussed in the film. Kangana herself played the lead role and directed the film. She also co-produced the film in association with Zee Studios. Three cuts are suggested, and Kangana’s team agreed for the cuts. The Censor Board now granted a U/A certificate and cleared all the hurdles for the film. Kangana will decide and announce the new release date of Emergency very soon.
