Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK General Secretary Jayalalithaa is “recovering well,” according to the State’s Governor Ch.Vidyasagar Rao, who called on her at Apollo Hospital in Chennai on Saturday. Amid high speculations raised by MDMK and other anti-Jaya forces, this is the first positive sign on the health of the ailing leader, who is known as one of the iron ladies of Indian politics.
Being the in-charge Governor of Tamil Nadu, Mr.Vidyasagar Rao flew down to Chennai from Mumbai and closeted with Apollo Hospital Chairman Dr.Pratap C.Reddy. He called on the CM and presented fruits besides wishing her a speedy recovery.
While thanking the doctors for explaining the health condition of the Chief Minister, Vidyasagar Rao revealed that ‘happy to note that the Chief Minister is recovering well.’ It is indeed a good news for the AIADMK cadres, who are worried about Amma’s condition ever since she had been admitted to Apollo on September 22 with fever and dehydration.
AIADMK too announced that its leader is healthy and asked roumour-mongers to stop spreading unsavory news about her health.
“Amma is healthy. She needs rest as per doctors’ advice and will return in good health,” senior AIADMK leader and former Minister B. Valarmathi said. She claimed that Jayalalithaa was performing official duties (from the hospital). “she had even announced the party’s candidates for this month’s civic polls while in hospital. Some jealous people are carrying out a wrong campaign to confuse people by spreading rumors,” she said
